NOTES: Northwest of Brattleboro near West Dover, the Mount Snow ski area has 102 runs spread over 5 mountains on 558 acres with a max vertical of 1,700 feet.
Its known as the best freestyle paradise on the east coast with 12 terrain parks. The Superpipe is a 460-foot-long, 18-foot-high competition superpipe. The Mini Pipe is a 300-foot-long halfpipe with 8-foot walls, built with the progressive shredder in mind. It is not known for freeriding and most runs are flat intermediates. For steeps, try Ripcord. For glades, check out the Plunge.
For nightlife, try Silo Pub, Snow Barn, Dover Bar (D-Bags) and Indigo.
To reach Mount Snow Ski Area from NYC, head nort on US95 to US91 in New Haven, CT. Follow US91 North to Exit #2 in Vermont. Take Route 9 West 20 miles to Wilmington, VT. Turn right at the stoplight on to Route 100 North. Nine miles to Mount Snow. For Main Entrance, turn left at second blinking light.
To reach Mount Snow Ski Area from Boston, head west on SR2 to US91. Follow I-91 north to Exit #2 in Vermont. Take Route 9 West 20 miles to Wilmington, VT. Turn right at the stoplight on to Route 100 North. Nine miles to Mount Snow. For Main Entrance, turn left at second blinking light.
Note: In 2007 and 2008, Mount Snow invested went big on investing in snow making equipment. Beware, this place is packed on the weekends.
